Westport-The Groins in Washington is a sheltered beach and jetty break with reasonably consistent surf, favoring spring and summer conditions. The surf here mainly comes from groundswells, with the ideal swell direction from the west-southwest. Offshore winds from the south produce the best conditions. The beach break offers primarily left-hand waves and works best around low tide. It can get quite busy when the surf is up. Surfers should watch for rips and pollution. The most consistent clean waves usually occur in winter, especially January.
