Briech in Tanger to Rabat is an exposed beach break that offers its most consistent surfing opportunities during the autumn and winter months, though it can provide dependable waves at any time of the year. It performs best when a strong northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east. Most of the waves arrive in the form of clean Atlantic groundswells, producing a variety of left and right-hand peaks across the sandy shoreline that can become quite punchy and hollow when a solid swell is running. The surf is notably tide-sensitive and remains rideable primarily around low tide, which often provides the cleanest faces and best wave shapes. While it is a popular and accessible spot along this coastal stretch, the lineup can become quite crowded when the conditions are optimal.
