Garden City Pier in South Carolina is an exposed beach and pier break that offers consistent surf throughout the year. It works best with offshore winds from the northwest and a swell direction from the south-southeast, receiving a mix of groundswells and windswells. The break produces both left and right-handers, and is often crowded when it's working. Rips, rocks, pollution, and localism are all factors to be aware of. The best surf conditions occur when a south-southeast swell combines with northwest winds, with the most consistent clean waves typically seen in winter, especially in December.
