Pico de el Errizo in Andalucía is a fairly exposed reef break that only works occasionally, relying almost entirely on east windswells to produce surfable waves. It is best during summer, when offshore winds from the west help clean up the faces and improve wave shape. The bottom is rocky reef, creating both left- and right-hand breaks that work best around low tide, though submerged rocks make the spot hazardous and more suitable for experienced surfers. Crowds are rare, even when conditions line up. The best month to surf Pico de el Errizo is August.
