La Manga in Murcia is a fairly exposed beach break that offers inconsistent surf, with wave quality depending largely on local wind conditions rather than strong seasonal swell patterns. It mainly picks up short-period east windswells, with offshore winds from the west helping to clean up the wave faces when conditions align. The bottom is mostly sand with scattered rocks, producing both lefts and rights and working across most tide stages. Even when waves are breaking, the spot is rarely crowded, though surfers should watch out for rock hazards. The best month to surf La Manga is August, when lighter winds and more frequent easterly windswells most often combine.
