St Jean in Côte d'Azur is an exposed reef break that frequently remains flat during the summer months. It performs best with a south swell and offshore winds from the north; while local windswells are the primary source of energy, groundswells do occasionally reach the area. Despite its reef classification, there is no distinct reef break at this location, and the spot is tide-dependent, working best around a rising high tide. As a popular wave, the lineup can become crowded when conditions are optimal, and surfers should be mindful of hazards such as sea urchins and submerged rocks.
