L'Escale Borely in Côte d'Azur is a sheltered beach break that works infrequently, with no specific seasonal pattern for reliable waves. It performs best with a southwest swell and offshore winds from the north-northwest, benefiting from some natural protection against southerly winds. Waves are much more likely to be generated by local windswells than distant groundswells, providing both left and right-handers that remain unaffected by the tide. Even when the surf is up, it is unlikely to be crowded; however, surfers should remain cautious of rocks, a heavy shorebreak, and potential water pollution.
