Vale do Lobo is an exposed beach break in The Algarve that offers pretty consistent surf, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The most favorable conditions are a West-Southwest swell from a mix of groundswells and windswells combined with offshore winds from the Northeast. The break works best around mid tide. When the surf is working, it can get crowded, and surfers should take special care here if it gets very crowded. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in January.
