It offers consistent surf when Atlantic swells are running, with waves breaking over a mix of sand and rock bottom along an extensive coastline. The spot works best with swell arriving from the West or Northwest, paired with light or offshore winds, typically from the East or Southeast, which groom the open peaks into rideable lefts and rights. This break is highly sensitive to the tide; access is safest during low tide, but surfers must be acutely aware of the tide schedule as the beach can become fully immersed against the cliffs at high tide. Crowds here are generally low to moderate due to the challenging access, which involves descending the cliff area.
