Praia da Rocha is a fairly exposed beach break in Algarve that has unreliable waves, with Winter being the favored time of year for surfing, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The most favorable conditions are a Southwest windswell combined with offshore winds from the North. The spot is often crowded, and surfers should be aware that the crowds in the water make a gath helmet a good idea. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in October.
