Pedra do Ouro is an exposed beach break in Central Portugal (Alcobaça) that is a regular favorite with surfers, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The best time of year for surfing here is Winter. The most favorable conditions are a West swell (likely from groundswells) combined with offshore winds from the East. The break is generally uncrowded. Surfers should be aware of rocky sections near the shoreline. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in December.
