Cogumelo is an exposed beach break in South Portugal that offers pretty consistent surf, though it is typically flat during summer. The most favorable conditions are a Southwest swell from windswells or groundswells combined with offshore winds from the East. The break works best around mid tide, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The spot is often crowded, and surfers should be aware of rocks and crowds. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in December.
