Castelo in Lisbon is an exposed beach break that offers very consistent surf and works throughout the year. The spot performs best with swells from the west and offshore winds from the east, delivering reliable left- and right-hand waves that are surfable at all tide stages. The prime season for surfing Praia do Castello is during winter, particularly in December, when clean and consistent conditions are most common. The break is rarely crowded, but surfers should remain cautious of strong rips and shifting sandbanks.
