Baleal Sul in Peniche is a sheltered beach break that performs best with swells from the west and offshore winds from the south-southeast. The break offers both left and right-hand waves that can handle a range of swell sizes and work well across all tide stages. Although the spot is inconsistent and only comes alive under the right conditions, it can get busy when the surf is on. Strong rips can be present, so caution is advised. The best surf typically occurs during winter, particularly in December.
