Baleal in Peniche is a sheltered beach break that performs best with swells from the north-northwest and offshore winds from the southeast. This spot offers consistent surf year-round, producing both left- and right-hand waves that work well on all tides. The break handles a mix of groundswells and windswells, delivering reliable and clean conditions when aligned with easterly winds. Despite its quality and accessibility, Praia do Baleal is generally uncrowded, even during prime conditions. The best surf occurs during winter, particularly in December, when swell consistency and wind direction combine for optimal waves.
