L'Ermitage in Loire Atlantique is an exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the east northeast. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the optimum swell angle is from the west southwest. Waves at the beach are both lefts and rights. It very rarely gets crowded here. Beware of - Man-made danger (buoys etc.). The best conditions reported for surf at St Brevin l'Ermitage occur when a West-southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the East-northeast. The best time of year for surfing St Brevin l'Ermitage with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is during Spring and most often the month of March.
