Bud Bud in the Côte de Lumière is arguably the most legendary beach break in the Vendée, often referred to as the "French Pipeline" for its powerful, hollow barrels. This exposed spot offers pretty consistent surf throughout the year, primarily fueled by distant groundswells. It produces both lefts and rights, performing at its peak around mid-tide. Because of its international reputation for high-quality tubes, it is frequently crowded, and the lineup can become dangerously packed when the conditions are firing. The best sessions occur when a West-southwest swell meets East-northeast offshore winds, with March and the Spring season being the prime time for consistent, clean waves.
