Simpsons Reef in South Oregon is an exposed reef break with fairly consistent surf, though summer is often flat. It works best with a west swell and offshore winds from the east-southeast, mostly receiving groundswells. Best conditions occur around mid tide. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should be cautious of rips and sharks. Clean, rideable waves are most consistent during winter, especially in January.
