Seaside in North Oregon is an exposed reef and point break with dependable surf year-round, offering the most consistent clean waves during winter, especially in January. It picks up both groundswells and windswells, with the ideal swell direction from the southwest. The best conditions occur when a southwest swell meets offshore winds from the east. The wave is a left-breaking point break that peels cleanly and can provide quality rides. While sometimes crowded, surfers should be cautious of sharks, rocks, and localism.
