Local Knowledge
Les Roquilles in Languedoc-Roussillon is a fairly exposed beach break that works infrequently, with the summer months typically remaining flat. It performs best with a south-southeast swell and offshore winds from the north-northeast, though the spot also benefits from some shelter against easterly winds. Waves are predominantly generated by windswells rather than groundswells, offering both left and right-handers that remain surfable at all stages of the tide. When conditions are favorable, the break is likely to be crowded, and surfers should be mindful of hazards such as the jetty, strong rips, localism, and high traffic in the water.
