Tarnos in Aquitaine is an exposed beach and jetty break that offers pretty consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. This spot primarily produces left-hand waves fueled by an equal measure of windswells and groundswells; while it provides some shelter from south winds, it is known to become crowded when the conditions are on. Visitors should be particularly cautious of submerged obstacles and heavy crowds in the lineup. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with East offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
