Le 47 on the Côte Sauvage in Charente-Maritime is an exposed beach break that offers reasonably consistent surf and remains functional year-round. This spot primarily relies on distant groundswells to produce quality waves; however, unlike some of the quieter neighboring "numbered" peaks, it can get quite busy in the water when the conditions are firing. Visitors should be particularly mindful of water pollution, which is a noted concern for this area. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with East offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
