Hossegor - La Gravière in Landes is an exposed sandbar break famous for its heavy, world-class barrels. While it offers fairly consistent surf, it truly comes alive in the autumn. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves fueled by a mix of groundswells and windswells; however, it is a high-performance wave that can be challenging and is often crowded when the conditions are firing. Surfers should take extra care when the lineup is packed due to the intensity of the wave and the level of talent it attracts. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with East offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
