Côte des Basques in La Côte Basque is an exposed beach and reef break that offers reasonably consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves fueled by an equal measure of windswells and groundswells; while it offers some shelter from northwest winds and is best surfed around low tide, visitors should be prepared for crowds and take care to avoid rocks in the lineup. The best conditions occur when a West swell combines with East offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
