Ciboure in La Côte Basque is a fairly exposed beach and jetty break that offers fairly consistent surf, although it is frequently flat during the summer months. This spot primarily features left-hand waves fueled by an equal measure of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it is best surfed around low tide, it is often crowded and requires vigilance regarding rocks and heavy traffic in the water. The best conditions occur when a West-northwest swell combines with South-southeast offshore winds, with February being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
