Shipwreck Bay–Pines (Northland): A sheltered beach and reef break offering fairly consistent surf, Shipwreck Bay–Pines works best with a southwest swell and offshore winds from the south. It features both left and right reef breaks and performs best around high tide. The spot receives distant groundswells, with **winter—especially October—**providing the most reliable clean waves. Crowds are typically light, but strong rips can pose a hazard.
