It performs best in fall, particularly October through November, when tropical storms and nor’easters provide steady southeast and northeast groundswells, often cleaned up by offshore winds from the west. Wave quality is variable, but expect peaky lefts and rights that are most manageable at low to mid tide. The spot’s relative seclusion keeps crowds light compared to more central Hatteras breaks, making it a good choice for a relaxed session.
