Oceanic Pier in North Carolina is an exposed beach and pier break with consistent surf that works year-round. It picks up a mix of groundswells and windswells, with the ideal swell direction coming from the northeast and offshore winds from the west. The spot offers both left and right-hand waves and holds up well through all tide stages. The best surf conditions occur when a northeast swell combines with west winds. Winter is the prime season for clean, rideable waves, with January offering the most consistent conditions. Crowds are common, and rip currents can make the area dangerous.
