It performs best in fall, especially September through October, when tropical storms and nor’easters generate long-period southeast and northeast swells, pairing well with offshore winds from the northwest to west. The pier helps focus sandbar formation, creating punchy lefts and rights that are often best at low to mid tide, though shifting bars can alter conditions quickly. Crowds are common during good swell events given its easy access and central location, but the spot still provides dependable surf options year-round.
