Yport in Normandy is an exposed reef break that offers fairly consistent surf, though the summer months frequently remain flat. It performs best with a west swell and offshore winds from the southwest, receiving an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells. The reef provides both rights and high-quality left-handers, but surfers should remain vigilant as rocks and rips present significant hazards. While the most consistent clean waves are generally found in the cooler months, August is noted as a peak time for rideable swell paired with light offshore winds.
