Deauville in Normandy is an exposed beach break that frequently remains flat during the summer months. It performs best with a northwest swell and offshore winds from the southeast, receiving an equal mix of groundswells and windswells. The spot provides both left and right-handers across the beach and is notably versatile, offering good surf at all stages of the tide. While it is unlikely to be crowded even when the surf is up, surfers should be aware of potential pollution issues. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the winter, particularly in February.
