It works best with offshore winds from the west-northwest and receives a mix of windswells and groundswells, with the ideal swell direction from the southeast. The break is primarily a right-hand reef but can also produce lefts, and it remains surfable at all tide stages. The best conditions occur when a southeast swell aligns with west-northwest winds. Summer, especially July, provides the most consistent clean waves. The spot is often crowded, and surfers should be cautious of rocks.
