The spot functions through all tides, though mid tide usually delivers the best balance of form and ride length. It draws a regular local crowd, especially during clean fall swells, but is generally less busy than central town beaches. Hazards include shifting sandbars and strong rip currents. The most consistent clean surf is typically found in September.
