Goosewing Beach in Rhode Island is a reliable year-round surf spot featuring exposed beach, reef, and point breaks with both left and right hand waves. It works best with groundswells coming from the southeast and offshore winds from the north. Tide changes have little effect on wave quality, and the spot is rarely crowded despite consistent surf. Surfers should be aware of dangerous rips. The best conditions occur in winter, especially March, when a southeast swell combines with offshore winds from the north to produce clean, rideable waves.
