It performs best when a strong west-northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the north. The waves arrive as a mix of both local windswells and distant groundswells, producing a long peak along the rocky point that can become quite punchy and hollow when a solid swell is running. The surf is notably versatile and remains rideable at all stages of the tide, though it often provides the cleanest faces on a rising mid-tide. While it is a reliable spot along this stretch of coast, it is rarely crowded, even when the surf is up.
