Pointe aux Oies in Nord - Pas de Calais is a fairly exposed reef break that works only when conditions are just right, with the summer months typically remaining flat. It performs best with a west swell and offshore winds from the east, receiving an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells. The reef is best surfed around mid-tide, but surfers should be highly cautious of dangerous rips that frequent the area. While it can get crowded at times, it offers a quality session when the winter swell hits, particularly during the month of January.
