This rugged, rural spot provides both left and right-hand waves driven primarily by powerful groundswells; while it performs best around low tide and is known for its high water quality, it is likely to be crowded when the surf is up. The best conditions reported for surf at Ponzos occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the South-southeast, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves is the month of December.
