Playa de Sabón in Galicia is an exposed beach break that is usually a safe bet and can work at any time of the year. This spot provides mainly right-hand waves driven by an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it performs well at all stages of the tide and can handle light onshore winds, it is often crowded and may have water quality issues. The best conditions reported for surf at Playa de Sabón occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Southeast, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves is the month of December.
