Playa de Patos (El Pico) in Galicia is a fairly exposed beach and reef break with unreliable waves, tending to be mostly flat during the summer. The spot features an A-frame beach break along with reef breaks that typically offer better rights than lefts; however, it is sometimes crowded and performs best around high tide. The best conditions reported for surf at Playa de Patos (El Pico) occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the South-southwest, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is the month of December.
