Playa de Fonforrón in Galicia is a fairly exposed beach and reef break with fairly consistent surf, performing at its best during the winter months. The spot primarily favors right-handers and receives an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells; even when the conditions are prime, it is unlikely to be crowded. The best conditions reported for surf at Playa de Fonforrón occur when a West-northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the South, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is the month of December.
