This world-class spot provides high-quality left and right-handers driven by a mix of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it performs best around low tide, it is often heavily crowded, which can occasionally make surfing hazardous. The best conditions reported for surf at Playa de Doniños occur when a West-northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the East, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves is the month of September.
