Wiggins Pass on Florida’s Gulf Coast is an exposed river break that rarely offers rideable surf, typically only working during hurricane season. Windswells are the primary source of waves, with the best surf created when an east swell meets offshore winds from the east-northeast. Surf is possible at all tide stages, and the break is usually uncrowded. Hazards include rips and sharks. The most consistent clean waves are found in autumn, with October being the prime month.
