Local Knowledge & Surf Guide
Local Knowledge
Surfside in South Florida is an exposed beach break that offers fairly consistent surf year-round. Best conditions arise when northeast swells combine with offshore winds from the west, creating clean lefts and rights along the shoreline. The wave works well across all tides but tends to be at its best during a rising low tide. While not typically overcrowded, it can draw a local crowd when conditions are favorable. Surfers should remain cautious of common hazards such as rips, submerged obstacles (like rocks or reefs), localism, and occasional pollution. Although the break can fire at any time of year, winter—especially January—usually provides the most reliable clean, ride‑able waves.
