Local Knowledge
Sebastian Inlet β First Peak in North Florida is an exposed beach and jetty break known for its very consistent waves, though it often goes flat during the summer. It works best with offshore winds from the southwest and picks up both windswells and groundswells, with an optimal swell direction from the northeast. The wave typically breaks right and offers good surf through all stages of the tide. While it can get crowded, itβs a favorite among locals. Hazards include rocks, man-made obstacles, aggressive localism, and sharks. Despite summer's inconsistency, July can still deliver clean conditions when swell and wind align.
