Pompano Pier is a beach break with a sandy bottom. Surf is fairly consistent, and the best time of year to catch waves is during the winter. When it is working, conditions are best when a north-northeast swell combines with light offshore winds from the west, producing clean waves. This spot is suitable for all surfing levels. Hazards include shifting sandbars and crowds, so being aware of your surroundings is important.
