Matanzas Inlet in North Florida is an exposed river break with consistent surf and year-round potential. Offshore winds from the southwest paired with a northeast swell provide the best conditions. This quiet spot receives a mix of groundswells and windswells, with waves breaking both left and right across all tide stages. Hazards include rips, sharks, territorial locals, and occasional submerged dangers. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during summer, especially in July.
