Local Knowledge & Surf Guide
Local Knowledge
Bicentennial Park in North Florida is an exposed reef break with inconsistent surf and no clear seasonal pattern. It works best with offshore winds from the west-southwest and receives waves equally from local windswells and distant groundswells. The ideal swell direction is from the east. Hazards include rips, undertow, rocks, localism, and sharks. The best conditions occur when an east swell combines with offshore winds from the west-southwest. Summer, particularly July, offers the most consistent clean waves for surfing here.
