16th Street South is a sandy beach-break on Jacksonville Beach with consistent surf across the seasons. Winter brings the most reliable waves from frontal systems, while fall can add tropical swells and summer favors smaller longboard sessions. East to northeast swells pair best with light west winds, and mid to incoming tides usually provide the cleanest shape. Waves are mellow and peeling, suiting beginners and longboarders, with shifting sandbars and rip currents as the main hazards.
