Plentzia in Pais Vasco is a sheltered beach break where winter is the prime season for surfing. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves from a mix of groundswells and windswells; while it is best surfed around low tide, visitors should be aware that it is sometimes crowded and the water quality can be affected by pollution. The best conditions occur when a West-northwest swell combines with East-southeast offshore winds, with January being the most consistent month for clean waves.
