Tivives is a fairly exposed beach break in Golfo de Nicoya that does not work very often, offering both left and right-hand waves. The most favorable conditions are a southwest groundswell with offshore winds from the northeast. The spot is sometimes crowded, and surfers should be aware of rips and pollution. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in July.
